Upstate Down is a design forward home brand rooted in the heart of the Hudson Valley. We’re a boutique real estate brokerage, an interior design studio, and a home goods shop all centered on reimagining how people find, create, and live in their homes.

Our mission is simple: to help people feel more deeply connected to where they live.

Our design studio brings those spaces to life with a philosophy grounded in warmth, craftsmanship, and a reverence for natural materials. We believe good design doesn’t shout, it invites. Our work blends old and new, honoring each home’s character while tailoring it to the people who live there. We love thoughtful renovations, timeless palettes, plaster walls, reclaimed wood, and pieces that age with grace.

The shoppe is our way of sharing those materials and stories with a wider audience. Located in Rhinebeck, our storefront offers a curated mix of home goods, vintage finds, handmade objects, and everyday essentials, each selected for beauty, utility, and soul. Whether you’re furnishing a full home or simply picking up a candle and a linen napkin, we want it to feel like a visit to a friend’s house.

Rhinebeck resident by way of New Jersey and Brooklyn. Interior Designer and Principal Broker with 10+ years experience in high end Real Estate in the Hudson Valley. Holiday enthusiast, treasure collector, and proud mama. Is secretly re-designing every room she enters.

Her work blends sustainability, material innovation, and care-centered design, with experience in healthy materials research and residential interiors. She is passionate about creating intentional spaces that inspire well-being and connection.

Olivia Cambalik is pursuing a certification in residential interior design and brings her background in communications and media to her design practice. She is passionate about creating warm, inspiring spaces and is excited to continue growing in the field of interior design
