Design Consultation FAQ

Q: What is included in the design consultation?
A: The consultation includes a one-time meeting to discuss your space, followed by a tailored design package. Deliverables may include layout suggestions, material and finish recommendations, furnishings, a mood board, and a sourcing list—providing you with a cohesive plan to move forward confidently.

Q: How is this different from full-service design?
A: Unlike full-service design, the consultation is an advisory service only. We provide the design direction, but do not manage implementation or coordinate directly with contractors. It’s ideal if you want professional input but plan to handle execution on your own or with your contractor.

Q: How long does the process take?
A: From the initial consultation to final deliverables, the process typically takes 2-3 weeks depending on the scope of your space and needs.

Q: Can I use this service for just one room?
A: Yes—this service is perfect for single-room projects, though we’re happy to advise on multiple spaces within the same session if time allows.

Q: Will I receive links or sources for products?
A: Yes, when applicable, we’ll include a sourcing list with links to suggested furniture, fixtures, or finishes that align with your design direction and budget.

Q: Is this service right for renovations or new builds?
A: It can be! While we don’t manage contractors, we can provide finish palettes, layout guidance, and fixture recommendations that you can hand
off to your build team for implementation.

Q: What happens after I first reach out about a design project?
A: When you reach out, we’ll start by gathering a few details over email to get a sense of your project. Based on that, we’ll provide a general cost estimate for our design consultation—typically 10–20% of your total project budget. If that feels aligned with your expectations, we’ll then schedule an intake call to discuss next steps. This helps ensure we’re a good fit before diving in.

Q: When do I pay for the design consultation?
A: After we provide you with the cost estimate, we require an initial deposit to officially book and begin the consultation process. This secures your place in our schedule and allows us to move forward.

Q: When do I get the final materials or recommendations?
A: After the consultation is complete, the remaining balance of the consultation fee must be paid before we release any deliverables—this includes usable materials like sketches, product lists, or digital plans.
