A peaceful outdoor scene at dusk featuring a small pavilion with a metal roof and wooden pillars, overlooking a calm pond with reflections. The pond is bordered by a stone walkway leading to a waterfall with cascading water, surrounded by lush green trees.

Welcome to the Waterfall House, an architectural treasure in the heart of the Hudson Valley. Designed by architect Steve Mensch, and completed in 1985, the Waterfall House sits atop a 60 ft. waterfall and is made up of four copper-roofed structures, which are connected by a series of covered walkways.

A modern multi-story house built into a hillside, with large glass windows and a black roof, surrounded by trees and greenery, illuminated from within at sunset.

The steel and cement main house is built alongside a 1930’s era dam and is influenced by Mid-Century and zen architecture styles. The layout is inverted, with kitchen and living spaces on the upper floor, looking over the waterfall with fully retractable glass walls. The next level down includes the primary suite, and below that are two additional guest sleeping areas. The ground level is a cozy media room.

A treehouse with dark wooden siding and a metallic roof is nestled among tall trees and lush green foliage.

The guest houses are connected by stone paths and elevated pathways providing a rare and romantic approach. Guest house 1 offers a sleeping nook, full bathroom and covered porch overlooking the quiet river upstream.

Living room with large windows overlooking a wooded outdoor area, featuring a pink sofa, a brown leather armchair, a wooden coffee table, and a fireplace with artwork of a close-up of a human eye on the wall.

The second guest house has two bedrooms, and one bath with a kitchen, living room, and fire place and would be a dream home away from home nestled in the trees.

A modern, minimalist concrete building with a red door and small ramp, surrounded by trees with autumn foliage.

Finally, there is a 3 story studio building which was once used as the owners architecture and painting studio. The studio has a direct view of the waterfall and incredible architectural proportions. Located down a long private driveway 5 minutes to Rhinebeck Village and 7 minutes to Amtrak Train Station.
